Unlike ten years ago, today’s world of vision correction is filled with options. Many people think that they can choose between glasses, contacts, and LASIK. The truth is that there are now numerous methods and technologies and no single option fits everyone.

While I will refer to LASIK surgeons in this article, the truth is that a surgeon who performs LASIK only may not be the best choice. LASIK is the best choice for some people but other people might require Crystalens or Restor or Visian or PRK or some other vision correction procedure. If a LASIK doctor does not offer these choices, the LASIK candidate may be given the choice that is not in his/her best interests. Find out what options are available to you and which surgeons offer those choices. If the LASIK doctors all recommend LASIK, then you will need to choose the best LASIK surgeon. If another option is a better choice, then the best LASIK surgeon may not help you.
